Ednna Villamizar was born in Valencia, Venezuela, in August, 1974. After enrolling in the Architecture program at the Simón Bolívar University, located in Sartenejas, Edo. Miranda, Venezuela, her early practices as a student were in offices in Caracas with Architect Enrique Cilia. Her outstanding thesis defense in 1999 was a large-scale urban intervention in the geographical center of her hometown. This graduation project was developed under the mentorship of architect David Gouverneur. During the thesis defense process, she met her thesis jury: the distinguished architect Jimmy Alcock, who praised her defense and the way she presented the project, offering her a position in his design office.
In 1999, motivated by her desire to remain in her hometown, she was invited to participate in the Master Plan for Urban Design of the Historical Center of Valencia, located 157 km from the Venezuelan capital. This project for the creation of the new Urban Ordinance was managed by the Urban Design Office at that time, Bofill & Gouverneur, Assoc., with whom she participated in the careful selection of historically valuable homes in the central area of the City of Valencia. These homes were inventoried and totaled, and this study became the basis for the creation of the Urban Development Institute of the City of Valencia (INDUVAL).
By 2001, she was part of the Technical Board as a project analyst at this institute, participating in international projects led by the multinational company PACTARIM (France) and under the direction of INDUVAL. She was involved in urban proposals with economic feasibility that integrated external credit programs for the growth and development of the City of Valencia.
By 2008, she had established her own firm, PROYECTOS DAITEZ, C.A., through which she developed Private residential and commercial projects and ventured into Industrial Project Management, executing works within the industrial park of the second most important industrial city in Venezuela. Among her clients were Pharsanna de Venezuela, Protinal, and Henkel de Venezuela. Ednna Villamizar’s work is not only the product of architectural ideas, but she also succeeded in integrating civil works with her unique and urban style, adapted to the place and time with a continuous urban approach, always integrating its use and giving the location and community a sense of identity where her buildings were placed.
This can be seen in the projects built under her direction and during her tenure as Head of the Technical Board of the Mayor’s Office of Puerto Cabello in 2012. These public works transformed the environment and left their mark on the city, such as the new headquarters of the La Noria Passenger Terminal, new children’s Basketball Courts in the Rancho Grande neighborhood of Puerto Cabello, and the Social and Sports Center.
The latter, the Sports Center, which would accommodate 1,800 people in a high-density urban space, has been one of Ednna’s greatest achievements, developing a single urban module. Other multipurpose halls with activities reflecting the identity of the inhabitants were created, making the area more attractive and locally impactful. This Sports Complex, now called “La Bombonerita,” received recognition a Special Mentionof Public and Social Category at the National Biennial, X Edition . At MalaussenaArchitecture Exhibition, 2016, in honor of the renowned Architect Jimmy Alcock.
In 2017, Ednnaz,Llc became a firm that, to this day, has developed projects and worked in collaboration with well-known and distinguished firms in the state of Florida, specifically in Miami, including R.E. Chisholm Architects, Garcia & Mathies Interior Design Lab. She has also participated in project management with companies like Titan Construction Group, Panacea Development among others.
2025 Ednnaz Llc has been Participating as the Lead Architect of the Green Garden Valley at Osceola City in Kissimmee in an Urban Complex of Residential, Commercial and Factories Project. Under the Coordination with Ramos Martinez Architects.
